Movie Review of Life of Pi: Students will watch the movie Life of Pi (2012) outside of class and will write a thesis-driven movie review (1,200-1,500 words) for a fictional website called Interfaith Flicks. You will assume the role of the website’s premier reviewer. Your reviews are known for their erudition and their penetrating analysis of the various interfaith issues and questions raised in films. The purpose of the review is to help readers and potential moviegoers understand the interfaith issues at play in Life of Pi and to determine whether the movie does an adequate job in handling these issues. While the imagined audience of your review is a public one that frequents your website, the review must still abide by academic standards, and students will be required to make connections between Life of Pi and relevant texts, films, and discussions from the course.
